The Appalachian Loft seeks to provide an affordable and convenient environment for Appalachian students, faculty and staff fulfilling academic requirements, conducting academic research or other activities while visiting New York City. There is a resident director to assist our guests while visiting the Loft. The Loft is governed by the ASU Off-Campus Advisory Board and is managed by the Office for Business Affairs.

Reservations can be made by contacting the Office of Business Affairs, Appalachian State University, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 828-262-2132 or nyloft@appstate.edu.
Official faculty-led student groups receive first priority when it comes to group reservations and may book up to 15 months in advance. Reservations will be open the first business day of the month, 15 months prior to travel. Affiliates (ASU Students, Faculty, Staff, Alumni & Retirees) may make reservations up to 9 months in advance and Non-Affiliates (Friends of the University, which also includes family of affiliates) may make reservations up to 6 month in advance. Reservations will be open the first business day of the month, 9 (or 6) months prior to travel. Reservations will be accepted by phone beginning at 8:00 am. Voicemail will not be accepted to reserve space.
