Today I am sharing a card I made for CAS(E) This Sketch #380

This is the sketch:

I decided to use the Zany Zebra and team it with a sentiment from the Boho Indigo Medley.

I was just going to have it flat on the card base but it looked a little too flat for my taste so I mounted the front using some double sided tape. I am really happy how this one came out. I think if I cut out ink blending and used patterned paper I would be able to produce them quickly for thank you cards etc. (See the bottom of this post for a full list of supplies)

A second post from me today!

I just wanted to quickly share a card I made for this weeks TGIF Challenges Colour Challenge #TGIFC271

Here are the colours:

I decided to do a watercolour background for this challenge with an emboss resist finish. (There is a full list of items I have used at the bottom of this post). 

I used regular watercolour paper for this card and stamped Forever Fern in Versamark ink, then heat embossed using white embossing powder. Next I used water painters to paint the colour in, I really like these brushes because you can squeeze a little bit of water from them to move the colour around the page without having to complete wet the whole thing. 

To finish my card I used a sentiment from Lovely You set and the Lovely Labels pick up punch, I twisted some gold twine on the page and then secured it under the sentiment with foam tape. One I had that in place it still looked like it needed something so I added some sequins for a bit of bling.

Global Design Project #248 - CASE the Designer

Welcome back!

Today I am sharing a card I made for the GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT challenge #248.

This week the challenge is to CASE this lovely card by Maunela Geiswinkler:

I have just received the beautiful Boho Indigo Medley, it is such a beautiful set of products. The suite includes a lovely stamp set, dies, a beautiful selection of 6x6 patterned papers with dry embossed card stock and die cut shapes, lovely little paper flowers and two packs of ribbon trim. There is so much product in this suite, I will be able to make so many cards, it is such a good value pack.

Here is my card:

For the base I used Misty Moonlight card base cut to A6 size and then layered the patterned paper on top. I didn't like the hard line of the white background paper against the card so I added a strip of a darker pattern.

To give the vases and ombre look I first stamped them with Balmy Blue and then using a sponge dauber I added Misty Moonlight into to the stamp and used my Stamparatus to ensure that the image lined up perfectly for the second impression.

I die cut the blue ferns but the gold leaves and mesh background are from the Forever Gold laser cut paper, which I think works perfectly with the Boho Indigo.

I finished off with some ribbon from medley and the gold twine from the Forever Greenery trim pack and stamped my sentiment onto one of the die cut tags that is included in the set.

Slimline Is In!

Hello again!

Today I am sharing a slimline card, you may be seeing them a lot lately, they seem to be the in thing to be making and I really like how they look so I decided to have a go at making one.

I also tried the emboss resist technique for this card using the Painted Poppies Set (see the full list of supplies at the end of this post).

Here's how the card came together:

For the slimline base I cut a piece of Basic Black card to 8 1/2" x 7" and then scored and folded at 3 1/2". I also cut a piece of Whisper White into 8" x 3".

I stamped the large and small poppy along with the large leaves in versa mark on the white card. I then added the gold embossing powder and heat set.

Next came the blending, I used Poppy Parade, Cherry Cobbler and Pumpkin Pie ink which I blended with a foam makeup blender of course you can use the small finger blenders but I use these because they a good size for a larger area and they are super cheap so I can just throw them out if they get too messy.

Once that was done I adhered it to the card base and added the embellishments. Again I used gold embossing powder to add the sentiment to a piece of black card that I cut one end with the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. Next I loosely looped some of the gold thread onto the card (with the gold thread make sure you fasten the ends as it unravels very easily) and placed the sentiment on top with some foam tape to hold it down.

It was a very easy card to make but I think the gold embossing and ink blending against the black looks very dramatic and I am really happy with how it has turned out.
